Named Endowments
Foundation donors continued in their generous tradition of establishing named endowments. A named endowment can be established within an endowment category for a minimum gift of $100,000, subject to certain criteria. This allows a donor and their friends, family, company, or institution to leave a lasting legacy for the particular program area in which they have an interest in perpetuating. Named endowment donors receive an annual report of their earnings, along with a report on disbursements from their specific endowment. Following are the endowment categories and the established named endowments within those categories:

The NRA Foundation Board of Trustees Endowment
This endowment was established by the foundation board through a policy that directs 30 percent of certain unrestricted estate and bequest gifts into endowment. The board directs grants from this endowment to those programs most critically in need, as well as new program initiatives.

NRA Foundation General Endowment
Income generated from The NRA Foundation's General Endowment is invested in the educational programs of NRA most critically in need of funding at the time.
The Eugene S. and Inez C. Allen Endowment was established in 2004 to support NRA's eligible educational programs from a generous bequest by Mr. Allen.
The Board of Directors Endowment was established in 1998 and funded by contributions from members of the NRA Board of Directors.
The Harlon B. & Maryann Carter Endowment was established in 1997 by friends in memory of former NRA President Harlon B. Carter and his wife, Maryann, in recognition of their many years of service to NRA.
The Reinhart Fajen Endowment was established in 1992 by Mr. Fajen and his company.
The Stanley I. Kellert Endowment was established in 2003 by a bequest from Stanley I. Kellert.
The Kevin C. Johnson Endowment was established in 2004 to support NRA's safety, training and educational programs through a generous bequest by Mr. Johnson.
The John W. O'Donnell Endowment was established in 1997 by friends in memory of former NRA Director John O'Donnell.
The John and Jeanne Wooters Endowment was established in 1998 by friends of former NRA Director John Wooters and his wife, Jeanne.

Disabled Shooting Services Endowment
Income generated from this endowment is invested in NRA programs that provide hunting and educational shooting sports opportunities for Americans with physical disabilities.
The Schumann Foundation Endowment was established in 2002 through a generous gift by the Schumann Family Foundation.

Firearms & Marksmanship Training Endowment
Income generated from this endowment is invested in training programs that teach basic gun safety, marksmanship training, as well as related shooting sports and educational activities. Funds are utilized to sponsor clinics, workshops, and the development of coaches nationwide who will teach advanced techniques and skills to shooting athletes determined to achieve excellence at any level of competition—from the local to the international level. Specific program endowments, within this endowment include: Air Gun Endowment, Pistol Endowment, Rifle Endowment and the Shotgun Endowment. Named endowments include:
The First Shot Endowment was established in 2000 through the generosity of Larry and Brenda Potterfield, and their company MidwayUSA. This endowment supports NRA programs that develop first time shooters.
The Microsoft Gun Club Endowment in 2000 through individual contributions from members of the Microsoft Gun Club. This endowment was established to support training programs for young shooters. Club members' gifts to this endowment are matched dollar for dollar by the Microsoft Corporation.
The Edward J. Neumann Endowment was established in 2000 through a bequest by Mr. Neumann.
The John A. Nosler Endowment was established in 2002 by Nosler, Inc. This endowment honors John A. Nosler, founder of Nosler, Inc., and father of former Board of Trustee member Bob Nosler, President of Nosler, Inc. This endowment sponsors the NRA's Basic Rifle Training Program.
The William B. Ruger Endowment was established in 2003 by Sturm, Ruger, & Co., Inc. and Davidson's, Inc. This endowment sponsors the NRA's Basic Marksmanship Training Program.
The Revitz Endowment was established in 2001 by current foundation trustee, Mrs. Laura Revitz. This endowment supports NRA training programs that develop young shotgun competitors who aspire to become a member of a national U.S. Shooting Team.
The Stehsel Family Endowment was established in 1999 by Mr. Donald Stehsel to benefit NRA's National Junior Shooting Camps Program.

Gun Collecting Endowment
Income generated from this endowment is invested in programs that promote gun collecting as well as the historical, technological, and cultural disciplines that gun collecting embraces.
The Charles Elder Endowment was established in 2000 through a charitable trust of the late Charles Elder.

Gunsmith Training Endowment
Income generated form this endowment is invested in NRA's cooperative programs with institutions of higher learning to develop gunsmithing education programs within their curricula. The income can also be used to provide tuition assistance for deserving students who demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in gunsmithing. Currently, there are no named endowments in this category.

Handloading Education Endowment
Income generated from this endowment is invested in NRA's Handloading Education Programs that teach the basics of rifle, pistol, and/or shotgun ammunition reloading, with an emphasis on equipment, reloading components, and safety. Currently, there are no named endowments in this category.

Hunting & Wildlife Conservation Endowment
Income generated from this endowment is invested in programs that promote hunting interests, including wildlife management, conservation, hunter safety and skills training at any level. Within this endowment are specific program endowments including the Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) Endowment.
The F.E. "Bud" & Willa Jean Eyman Endowment was established in 1996 by friends in memory of former NRA Director Bud Eyman and his wife, Willa Jean.
The Law Firm of Rusing & Lopez P.L.L.C. Conservation Endowment was established in 2004 through a generous grant and matching gift by the Sayler-Hawkins Foundation.
The Theodore Roosevelt Endowment was established in 2001 to honor NRA Life Member, hunter, conservationist, and America's 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt, to support youth hunter and conservation programs.
The St. Louis Big Game Hunters Endowment was established in 1998 by the St. Louis Big Game Hunters Club to benefit YHEC in Missouri.
The Wake County Wildlife Club Endowment was established in 2002 by the Wake County Wildlife Club (Wake County, North Carolina).
The Thomas L. Washington Endowment was established in 1995 by a group of friends in memory of past NRA President Thomas L. Washington. This endowment benefits NRA's Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) Program.
The James R. & Dorothy M. Wood Endowment was established in 1996 by Mrs. Dorothy Wood, in memory of her husband James.

Law Enforcement Training Endowment
Income generated from this endowment is invested in NRA programs that serve law enforcement personnel enhancing their professional skills through up-to-date, state-of-the-art gun safety and marksmanship training. Funds are also used to train and develop instructors to teach these skills.
The Davidson's Endowment was established in 2002 by Davidson's, Inc., this endowment will provide funding to NRA's Police Shooting Championships.
The Bruce Nelson Endowment was established in 1995 in memory of Bruce Nelson by his wife, Sandra S. Froman.
The Harry & Florence Reeves Endowment was established in 1995 in honor of former NRA Director Harry Reeves and his wife, Florence Reeves.

National Firearms Museum Endowment
Income generated from this endowment is used exclusively to fund the programs, activities, and operating expenses of the National Firearms Museum—one of the world's finest collections of firearms educating visitors about America's history, heritage, and people. Named endowments include:
The Acquisition Endowment was established in 2001 by Blue Book Publications to fund the acquisition of items for the National Firearms Museum collection.
The Beretta Endowment was established in 2001 by the Beretta USA and Benelli USA companies. This endowment sponsors The Beretta Gallery: An Age of Elegance.
The David P. Bookman Endowment was established in 1998 by Mr. David P. Bookman. This endowment sponsors the French & Indian Wars Exhibit.
The William S. Brophy Endowment was established in 1991 in memory of Colonel Brophy by family and friends.
The Allan D. Cors Endowment was established in 1998 by former NRA Foundation President, Mr. Cors. This endowment sponsors the WWII-Axis, WWII-Allies, WWII-US, WWII-Diorama Exhibits.
The F.R. "Rudy" Etchen Endowment was established in 1996 by a group of friends in honor of former NRA Director Rudy Etchen. This endowment sponsors the Shotgun Sports: Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays Exhibit.
The Sandra S. Froman Endowment was established in 1998 by NRA President and past NRA Foundation President Sandra S. Froman. This endowment sponsors the Long Arm of the Law Exhibit.
The Hal & Jean Glassen Endowment was established in 2000 by the Hal and Jean Glassen Memorial Foundation. This endowment sponsors the Upland Bird Hunting and Waterfowling Exhibit.
The Melvin Gordon Endowment was established in 1998 by Mr. Gordon. This endowment sponsors the Mexican War Exhibit.
The Charlton Heston Endowment was established in 2002 to honor Mr. Heston. The endowment sponsors The Charlton Heston Gallery: Seeds of Greatness.
The Hornady Family Endowment was established in 1998 by the J.W. Hornady Memorial Trust. This endowment sponsors the Snaphaunce, the Doglock & The Miquelet Exhibit.
The Eric Johanson Endowment was established in 1999 by NRA Foundation Vice President, Mr. Eric Johanson. This endowment sponsors the Theodore Roosevelt & the NRA Exhibit, An Age of Elegance Exhibit, America's Splendid Little War with Spain: Roosevelt's Rough Riders Exhibit.
The Lockton Companies/AGIA Endowment was established in 2001 by the Lockton Companies/AGIA. This endowment sponsors the Expanding the Frontier Exhibit.
The Joel & Lydia Morrow Endowment was established in 2001 by Joel and Lydia Morrow. This endowment sponsors the Artistry in Arms Exhibit.
The New Mexico Gun Collectors Association Endowment was established in 1998 by the New Mexico Gun Collectors Association. This endowment sponsors the Flintlock Exhibit and the Arming the Militia Exhibit.
The Ohio Gun Collectors Association Endowment was established in 2000 by the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. This endowment sponsors the Child's Room Exhibit.
The Eldon J. & Edith W. Owens Endowment was established in 2004 to endow the Eldon J. and Edith W. Owens Gallery in the National Firearms Museum.
The William L. & Collette N. Roberts Endowment was established in 1995 by the Roberts'. This endowment sponsors the Dr. William L. and Collette N. Roberts Gallery: The Road to American Liberty and the Freedom's Doorway Exhibit.
The Robert F. & Ruth H. Rubendunst Endowment was established in 1996 by friends in honor of the Rubendunsts. This endowment sponsors the International Arms Trading/Francis Bannerman/The Bolt Action Rifle/Mauser Technology Exhibit.
The William B. Ruger Endowment was established in 1996 by friends of Mr. Ruger. This endowment sponsors the William B. Ruger Gallery.
The Doug Turnbull Restorations, Inc. Endowment was established in 2002 by Doug Turnbull Restorations, Inc. This endowment sponsors the Doug Turnbull Firearms Conservation Laboratory.
The R.L. Wilson Educational Endowment was established in 1995 by Mr. Wilson. This endowment sponsors the Shot Heard Round the World Exhibit.

NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund Endowment
Income generated from this endowment is utilized exclusively to support the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund (NRACRDF) as it assists in litigation relating to the right to keep and bear arms. The NRACRDF assists law-abiding American gun owners whose firearm rights have been infringed.
Working to establish positive legal precedent, revenue from this endowment allows laws and rulings to be critically examined in the light of the Second Amendment. The NRACRDF also funds legal research and education programs covering issues involved in the firearms debate, and fosters right to keep and bear arms provisions in state constitutions. Currently, there are no named endowments in this category.

Range Facilities and Programs Endowment
Income generated from this endowment is invested in NRA programs that further the development of safe, environmentally sound, readily-available public shooting ranges and programs through range design and operation consultations and education, as well as education conferences and seminars for range owners and operators.
The Crawford County Range Endowment was established in 2003 by an anonymous donor to fund development and operations of ranges in Crawford County, Missouri.

Scholarship Endowment
Income from this endowment is invested in NRA scholarship programs that provide academic support for deserving students who demonstrate a need, aptitude, and desire to excel in scholastics, leadership, and the shooting sports.
The Keystone Endowment was established in 1999 by MidwayUSA.

Women's Programs Endowment
Income generated from this endowment is invested in NRA women's programs to address the needs and interests of women in the safe use of firearms, hunting, and self-protection.
The Merrill D. & Lillian Z. Martin Endowment was established in 1999 by Mr. and Mrs. Martin. This endowment supports the NRA's Women On Target Instructional Shooting Clinics Program.

Youth Education Endowment
Income generated from this endowment is invested in the many youth education programs of NRA, funding firearms safety and marksmanship training efforts, accident prevention programs, and hunting programs. Within this endowment are specific program endowments, including: the Collegiate Shooting Endowment, the Eddie Eagle Endowment and the Youth Education Summit Endowment.
The Brownell Family Endowment was established in 1994 by the Brownell family and their company. This endowment sponsors the NRA Youth Shooting Camps Program.
The Beretta Youth Endowment was established in 2004 to support NRA's youth programs.
The Eldon L. & Hope T. Buckner Endowment was established in 1999 by Mr. and Mrs. Buckner to support the NRA's Youth Hunter Education Challenge in Oregon and nationally.
The Alice H. Bull Endowment was established in 1999 by friends and family in memory of former NRA Director and Executive Council member, Mrs. Alice H. Bull. This endowment supports collegiate shooting programs.
The Commander Richard E. Curtis Endowment was established in 2003 by a gift of land from Commander Richard E. Curtis. This endowment supports NRA's Youth Education Programs.
The Joe & Donna Foss Endowment was established by dedicated friends in 1995 to honor Congressional Medal of Honor recipient and past NRA President General Joe Foss and his wife, Donna.
The Hal & Jean Glassen Endowment was established in 1997 by the Hal and Jean Glassen Memorial Foundation in memory of former NRA President Hal Glassen and his wife, Jean.
The Charlton Heston Endowment was established in 2000 through a state fund grant from the South Texas Friends of NRA and other contributing friends and businesses to honor past NRA President Charlton Heston.
The Hodgdon Family Endowment was established in 1997 by Hodgdon Powder Company and the Hodgdon family.
The James D. Julia Auctioneer's Youth Endowment was established in 2004 to benefit NRA's Youth Educational Programs.
The Theodore J. LeVake Endowment was established in 1997 by Mrs. Charlotte LeVake in memory of her husband Theodore.
The Edward J. Neumann Endowment was established in 2000 through a bequest from Mr. Neumann.
The Pennsylvania Friends of NRA Endowment was established through several grants by the Pennsylvania Friends of NRA State Fund Committee. This endowment supports NRA youth programs.

The NRA Foundation Acorn Fund
"From Seed to Mighty Oak"
New in 2004, The NRA Foundation Acorn Fund offers an individual, family, friends, club, foundation or company the opportunity to establish a permanent named fund in their name, or perhaps in honor or memory of a loved one, for a gift of $10,000, subject to certain criteria. Donors can choose which eligible NRA program their Acorn Fund will support.
Acorn Funds are invested as part of the foundation's endowment portfolio, allowing contributions to compound over time, ensuring growth that will provide a permanent funding source for NRA programs.
In 2004, the first Acorn Fund, the Charles Velleca Acorn Fund, was established within the foundation's General Endowment category. Gifts from three siblings were made in memory of their brother, Charles Velleca, to establish the fund.
